Pat - That is actually a really good question. :) I didn't really think about it overly much when I wrote the post because I have never made fried chicken in my life and don't really have any plans to do so, but they shouldn't really have given the instruction to use an ounce vs a tablespoon or teaspoon. Using weight vs volume measures confuses the issue, especially when you're talking about dry weight.

I found this site - http://www.bakingandbakingscience.com/dec.htm - and it says that one cup of flour weighs about 4.5 ounces. I figure herbs would be comparable, right? I honestly don't know. The recipe says it makes .75 cup, so that would mean about 3.375 ounces. I think my comment about a month's worth of fried chicken is probably way off base, huh? The best I can say based on this is probably around a quarter cup, maybe a little less?

What do you think? I definitely wasn't a math and science major in college!

You wrote that 1 ounce of the KFC mix. What is exactly one ounce in sizes? 1 Tablespoon, 1 teaspoon? I do not have a weight scale for this. Please help me. Thank you !
